Moderate

This 400-foot trail, consisting mainly of a series of steps, begins next to the Stone Door Ranger Station and leads down to a picturesque waterfall.  Laurel Falls once had a mill at its top, but, like many mills in this area, it was swept away in a flood and was not rebuilt.  NOTE: Please stay on the wooden observation platform; rocks and mud are slippery, and the drop-off is dangerous.  Also, be aware that the climb back up the staircase from the falls may be challenging for some.
