131 Fiery Gizzard Rd, Tracy City

Moderate

Hanes Hole Falls is the first named waterfall of Fiery Gizzard Creek, on its way downstream into Fiery Gizzard Gorge.

Access Hanes Hole Falls via the Grundy Forest Loop Trail; you can go either way at the trail split, as Hanes Hole Falls is just about halfway around this loop trail.  This low but scenic waterfall is especially beautiful in the fall, as leaves begin to come down.  Please note that there is no swimming at Hanes Hole, and because of the occasionally steep terrain, please stay on the Grundy Forest Loop Trail at all times, especially where the trail runs alongside the creek. Keep your head out of your phone, and walk carefully; any stumble or trip could send you down the steep embankment and into the rocky creek below.
